Creepy Video Shows “Ghost” Moving Objects In Haunted Old Pub

Just in time for Halloween, a creepy video showing objects moving by themselves has appeared online, seeming to show a ghost haunting a British pub.

The clip shows Katie Ann Round, the landlady, cleaning in the back room of The Chapel House in the West Midlands, UK.

Facebook

But as soon as she leaves the room, the yellow wet floor sign moves around and at one point folds itself to the floor.

You can hear people watching the clip, presumably via CCTV that they are also recording, saying, “No way!’ as they watch the objects move around eerily.

Facebook

When Katie’s fiancee Ben Parkes investigates, the mop throws itself to the floor (and clearly terrifies him).

“When we looked at the footage I couldn’t believe it,” said Katie, “I thought it was [Ben] pulling my leg.”

Over 50 years ago, Millie Taylor-Morrison was a top model for a New Jersey, US, modeling agency. Now, age 86, Millie’s found fame once again as photos of her tying the knot last weekend have gone viral.

The stunning grandma didn’t only wow the internet with her gorgeous looks — she designed her beautiful purple wedding gown herself, too.

DailyMail

The photos of Millie’s big day have been liked and shared over 97,000 times, and this glam-ma has truly captured everyone’s hearts.

Her granddaughter, Khadija Elkharbibi, shared the images along with Millie’s story: “My grandmother was married to my grandmother for 41 years when he passed away. She found love again almost 25 years later and our family couldn’t be happier for her.

“She just turned 86 one week ago, and her new husband will be 86 in December.”

“This is a true testament that age is just a number and everyone can find love again.”

DailyMail

“Nana started the process in July with a clear idea in her head of what she envisioned herself looking like,” says Khadija, “She had one of her church members draw the dress, based off of her description of how she wanted it to look.”

“She then took the sketch to designer Marco Hall, who brought the dress to life.”

And Millie looked nothing short of fabulous.

DailyMail

“I hope I look half as good as her when I’m 86!” commented one person on the Facebook post.

In an incredible twist, Millie had actually known her husband-to-be, Harold Morrison, for six decades before they fell in love. He even attended her first wedding as a guest.

Millie cared for Harold while he was ill, driving him to church and eventually moving in with him. When he was healthy again, they decided to get married.

“I cannot put it into words,” said Millie, “I feel so blessed.”

DailyMail

“She is absolutely thrilled and very grateful and humble,” said Khadija of her grandma’s new-found fame, “She never intended any of this to happen.”

Beauty pageant contestant and Miss Iceland winner Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir has hit back after being told by pageant organizers that she is “too fat” to take part in competitions.

Arna, from Reykjavik, Iceland, was told by Miss Grand International founder Nawat Itsaragrisil that she should “stop eating”.

A photo posted by Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir (@arnayr) on

The 20-year-old aspiring model shared a message from Nawat which told her to “eats just salad for lunch and drink water every evening until the contest”.

It added that “[Nawat] is telling you this because he likes you and wants you to do well in the contest.”

Understandably, Arna was shocked by the message. She told local media, “If the owner of the contest really wants me to lose weight and doesn’t like me the way I am, then he doesn’t deserve to have me in the Top 10.”

“Yes, my shoulders are a bit broader than the other girls’, but that is because I was a member of the Icelandic national athletics team and I am proud of that.”

“Of course, I don’t take these comments to heart, but to do my best then hear this… Personally, I think I’m fine as I am.”

Since receiving the founder’s message, Arna has taken a stand and decided to quit the competition.

“I no longer have any interest in doing my best in this competition after receiving that message,” she said.

“This is definitely the last contest I shall be taking part it,” she added.

Guy Invents Genius Way To Prank Trick-Or-Treating Kids This Halloween

Twitter user Mark Sparrow sparked controversy on Monday when he suggested ruining the sanctity of Halloween candy with a cruel prank.

Prankster (and downright monster) Mark shared a photo of the worst trick imaginable — Brussels sprouts dipped in chocolate.

Understandably, people were horrified.

Think of all those excited kids in their costumes running from door to door gathering candy, biting into a chocolate ball only to reveal the world’s most loathed veggie inside. It’s nothing short of traumatic.

But Mark isn’t alone in his festive foodie pranking — another Twitter user, Chris, shared a photo of toffee onions.

Liver (yes, liver) dipped in dark chocolate.

And yet more evil netizens took this a stage further and recommended wrapping the sprouts chocolates in Ferrero Rocher wrappers.

And some warned that Mark was taking a serious risk going for the “trick” option on Halloween.

Still hilarious, though.

These Are The “Lotus Feet” Of The Last Women In China To Practise Foot Binding

footbinding

The ancient Chinese practice of foot-biding goes back centuries to the T’ang Dynasty (618-907 BC), when it was believed, particularly among the wealthy, that women with smaller feet looked beautiful and elegant.

Although the practice has been banned since 1912, many women continued with their bindings and today a number of elderly ladies in China still have deformed feet from binding.

Pinterest

Zhou Guizhen, 86, used to trick government inspectors by wrapping her crushed feet with thick bandages and wearing big shoes to make her feet look bigger.

She was born into a wealthy family and married a rich husband, in part thanks to her much-admired tiny feet.

SCMP

Zhao, below, had her feet bound when she was 15, which is relatively late for most girls. She was a farmer and spent hours on her feet, spending years in agony.

Guardian

As young as age 4, girls had their feet bound by their mothers, grandmothers, or sisters, because the young bones are soft and easier to manipulate.

Guardian

Each toe would be broken to curl under the foot, as close to the heel as possible, and would be unwrapped and rebound again and again to stop the feet from growing.

Guardian

A highly-desirable three-inch foot was known as a “golden lotus”, while a four-inch foot was a “silver lotus”.

HuffPost

The practice was so painful that women would often be bedridden. The long bandages used to bind the feet were only washed once or twice, and many women suffered horrific infections, even having to cut off parts of their flesh to allow pus to drain.

Wikipedia

Women would make their own shoes for their tiny feet, using intricate embroidery to create colorful, elaborate shoes that they would then wear to their weddings.

NeatORama

After the communist revolution, women like Zhou, above, were shunned because of their small feet as they couldn’t do physical labor.

Wikipedia

As they couldn’t contribute to the “communist dream”, many well-born women lost all of their riches during the revolution, leaving them penniless and painfully deformed.

DailyMail

Zhou regrets binding her feet, saying that she can no longer dance or even move properly. But, years ago, she had no choice but to bind her feet if she wanted to secure a good marriage.

DailyMail

They say women have to suffer for their beauty, but this is just a whole different level — we’ll stick to plucking our eyebrows, thanks.

When Her Cheating Ex-Boyfriend Asks For His Money Back, This Girl Gets Her Revenge In The Best Way

Breakups can be tough, especially when a relationship falls apart after someone has cheated. Twitter user Harriet from Cheshire, UK, had the perfect way to exact her revenge.

She and former boyfriend Dan split up after Harriet discovered Dan had been cheating on her.

Twitter

Then he had the nerve to ask her to repay him for the money they spent on a Justin Bieber concert ticket (note the snake emoji beside his name in her phone — ouch).

Twitter

Of course, Harriet wouldn’t deny someone money that was owed to them — even if it was her cheating snake of an ex-boyfriend — so she agreed to repay him.

But she accidentally-on-purpose forgot to specify exactly when and how he’d be getting his money.

Twitter

“I’ve set up a direct debit so you will receive 1p a day,” she texted.

And, true to her word, she paid him back in full. One penny every day (with a stinging payment reference).

Excellent work, Harriet.

Did This Mom Who Publicly Shamed Her 13-Year-Old Daughter For Sexting Go Way Too Far?

A mom has sparked debate online after her controversial method of teaching her daughter a lesson about “sexting” was posted on Facebook.

The unnamed 13-year-old girl was spotted by Riverside, California resident Krista Wilson holding a sign that read, “I’m 13 and I ask for d**k pics” on a busy road.

NBC

Concerned Krista shared the photo, saying, “You could see the tears running down her face … Grown men were reading [the sign] and laughing.”

According to numerous other witnesses, the girl had been standing there for several hours.

Krista added:

“I saw her bawling her eyes out, just saying she didn’t want to do this. Public shaming should not be done.”

But not everyone agreed that the 13-year-old’s mom had gone too far in publicly shaming her daughter. One commenter wrote:

“To the people blaming the mother: If she did nothing and something happened to this girl, first thing y’all will say is where was her mother and what she should have did.”

Krista, among others, thought the shaming verged on child abuse:

“The line between who they are and what they did is really blurred for teens. [Shaming is like] heaping self-doubt on something already volatile.”

Police and social services reportedly spoke the the teen’s mother at length and decided no charges were to be brought against her.

Did this mom go too far, or were her actions totally justified?

Dad Turns His 6-Year-Old Son’s Drawings Into Hilariously Strange Reality

Tom Curtis and his 6-year-old son, Dom, love drawing together, and Dom’s imagination can run pretty wild when he’s doodling. So Curtis decided to bring Dom’s pictures to life via his Instagram project, ‘Things I Have Drawn’.

Tom takes his son’s drawings of anything from spaceships, to butterflies, to bikes…

…and puts them in the real world.

Instagram

Tom believes that children’s art is undervalued for their adorable attempts to capture reality, and thinks that his son’s drawings should be treasured, not overlooked.

Instagram

He uses Photoshop to professionally render Dom’s drawings, even recreating a realistic (and slightly terrifying) version of the smiley faces Dom draws.

Instagram

Even when Tom himself is the subject of Dom’s art.

Instagram

“The original premise wasn’t that I took Dominic’s drawings and showed what they might look like,” explains Tom.

Instagram

“Instead, the idea is about imagining a world in which kids’ drawings are accurate and the things they draw are real.”

Instagram

“It’s just us silly adults that don’t see them because we’re not looking hard enough.”

Beloved beagle Daisy certainly got the send-off she deserved thanks to her loving humans, and it’s melting hearts everywhere.

Victor Flores, 22, from Texas, US, wasn’t going to let 13-year-old pup Daisy leave this world without plenty of pampering, treats, and love.

“My mom wanted to make her last day special, so we fed her her favorite foods and made sure she was as comfortable as possible,” said Victor.

They started the day with a perfect puppy snack of… bacon!

Twitter

Although Daisy could no longer walk on her own due to a ruptured disc, she set off with Victor and his mom, Shannon, for an outdoor adventure in her comfy wagon.

Twitter

Then it was dinner time.

Twitter

Daisy got chicken, steak, and veggies (and she looks very happy about that).

Twitter

Victor’s family had had Daisy since she was just 8 weeks old. “We had to put her down because she was too old for surgery and because she was suffering,” he explained.

And people everywhere were touched by Victor and Shannon’s special last day with Daisy. We’re not crying, you’re crying, okay?

“I didn’t think the tweet would go viral,” said Victor, “Everybody is sending their condolences so we appreciate that. Some people are even saying what we did for Daisy reminds them of what they did for their dogs in their final days. That’s pretty neat.”

Rest in peace, Daisy.
